two stroke oil or no oil in crankcase

Hello All....I have a Dolmar cut off saw model 7314. The saw has become impossible to start lately and so I checked the compression and there is very little. I have purchased parts to rebuild the saw a cyl/piston kit and gaskets. My problem is that I found oil in the crankcase it is a very small crankcase but the shaft is half covered in the oil. I have been told that in a two cycle engine there is no oil in the crankcase the engine is lubed via the gas oil mix. I don't see or undrestand how the the crank shaft is lubed with the gas / oil mix going direct to the combustion chamber. I have done a lot of rebuilding and repairs on four stroke but none on two stroke.Does anyone know where I can get a repair manual for this unit. Any help and or advise would be very welcomed.

The oil/petrol mix passes through the crankcase lubing the big end etc on its way to the cylinder.

There is a chain/ cutoff saw online dealer in London Ontario ( Cutters Choice ) .I believe there is a US site ( Cutters Choice.com ). They have lots of parts and I have had good service from them.
