LS R4041H
And not in an Infantry sort of way...
Well I have accepted a deal for an LS. Funny how things work out. 10 minutes after I get home from being chastised at a competitors dealership the LS dealer calls me. Found a R4041H for me (New) for $22,400 then informs me he has a demo he uses at the dealership and would sell me. Went there last night and the demo is very nice. The demo is a R4041H and has 125hrs on it . I get the full Warranty, new R4 tires, and all new fluids and filters. Included is a Taylor Pittsburgh 5' Med. Duty Brush hog, 6' or 5' Rototiller (minus $300 for the 5') and loaded tires (Beet Juice). $23K out the door. I think it is a fair deal.
TSO reminded me in another thread that the R4041 can handle a 6' brush hog. I liked the med duty he had as it was obviously a lot more ruggedly built that the Std. duty right next to it. I will check the price difference and see. The thing is I will only be brush hogging an old ~5 acres pasture a couple times a year and then some older trails in the woods. Not sure if sitting on the tractor an extra hour makes that big a difference to me.

The funny part is that I am getting the original R4 tires which are brand new (tractor was delivered to the dealer in Aug. 2013). Imagine my surprise when we walk into the pole barn and there sits the tractor with metal wheels on it! Not completley metal but heavy conveyerbelt type wheel with thick metal treads on it. Place is owned and operated by Mennonites. Nice folks.

That's the way they come shipped to the factory. I saw many like that at the assembly factory in North Carolina during my visit there.

Take a look at the last photo on the bottom row. Look closely at the tractor on the front row to the far right. (It's a cab tractor). You'll see the steel wheels you're referring to there.;)

Congrats on your new 4041H. I got mine in March 2013 and love it. It'll definitely handle a 6' bush hog with no problems. It's a tough little tractor for sure. Add a grapple and lift forks for the FEL and you'll be ready to tackle almost anything. Here's mine... My LS 4041H.jpgIMAG0238.jpg

Where did you get the canopy? Piranha teeth on the front?

I got the canopy installed by my dealer when I bought it. It came from a Texas company...Contact RCO Tractors in Austin, TX for more info on it. And yes, that a 72" Piranha tooth bar on my bucket.

Why were you chastised at a tractor dealer?
I was all set to buy a DK40 from a local dealer if we could work out a deal. I had found an identical tractor at another dealer (by chance) and it was almost $1K less. I asked the local dealer if they could move on their price, make a package deal with attachments, maybe throw in the loaded tire. Their response was No, No, No, And No. And made it perfectly clear that if I purchased from another dealer that I might as well forget about bringing it there for any kind of service. It wasn't about what they said more how the said it that… lets say it irked me.
