Winston is right, they're swappable. However, if you're talking about the turf tires, you don't need to switch sides, they're non-directional. Your ag tires may be on rims that are also adjustable.
You may be able to unbolt the square center and partly rotate it and bolt it back onto the wheel rim in a different spot, changing the offset. You can do that in combination with swapping sides, too, giving you a wide variety of track widths.
I asked about swapping the fronts. On the YM2000 (which has the same spindles as your YM1700) the manual says not to reverse the front wheels, so you shouldn't. On one of my other 2wd machines the rims are designed to be reversed, and the axle telescopes, as well, giving the ability to precisely set the track for row crop work. The YM1700/2000 is not designed to have the fronts reversed.
Since the front axle is on an unsprung pivot, making the front wider doesn't help as much as changing the rear wheels does for stability.
Make VERY sure the tires are not already filled when you're pulling them off. According to a chart I have those tires may hold more than 140lbs of water, added to the tire and wheel weight. Having personally removed a tire without knowing it had fill in it, you really, really don't want to be surprised by it. Be careful, and the same for putting the filled ones back on if you have someone else do it. I don't mean to scare you off, and filled tires really help with traction, just don't assume they're unfilled already and have them fall on you.
It's neat to see your boy on the machine in your picture. He's eager to try it out!
