Are there any tire experts on here? I have looked evrywhere and can't find a definitive pressure recommendation on R3 41-14-20 Galaxy Mighty Mow tires. Tractor is 3033r with cab and 72d belly mower. This is the most common use for the tractor. Manual only shows maximum of 25 PSI on the rears. I let them down to about 5 lbs trying to get the tractor in my 7 ft garage. (No go).The side walls really didn't buckle until then. Called a tire shop and they had no advice other than "don't run bias tires too low or you will ruin the sidewalls". The tractor rides kind of like a conastoga wagon on concrete with 25 lbs. Any ideas?

I would guess 10 psi would be close. No way I would run 25 psi, that is just the max rating of the tire body.

I had the same tire size on a Deere 4400. I kept the pressure 12-14 PSI.
By the way, if those tires are filled, make sure the valve stem is at the 12:00 position when checking or adjusting pressure.

My Deere dealer sent their tire repair truck out to my place this morning to fix my flat 36x14.00-15 R3 rear tire on a 2720. The book calls for 20psi maximum. I like to run 9psi for a smooth ride but the tire guy recommended 15psi especially with a load on like a tiller. The only leak he could find was a bead leak and he blamed it on air pressure being too low.

Low pressure can cause tire slipping on the rim or even roll the tire off the rim when turning. I came mighty close to rolling a front tire off the rim when using the loader to move a heavy load.

Yep, I've learned my lesson, screw the ride, I'll never go below 12psi again.

I run 10psi on the rear of the NH and never had a problem. Any soft tire like a turf or ATV will get more punctures when pumped up too much. Turfs have less ply's and are meant to flex.

Thanks guys;I will certainly lower the air now after hearing from others. It's nice to have reassurance from ose who know more than I.

Noticed something interesting on my own 3033R this weekend. Manual section on tire inflation does indeed say “(Maximum)” in section heading, but then The description below states “pressures below are standard factory inflations.”

More importantly, the 320R loader manual recommends 3psi over the value listed in the tractor manual, which would put my 6PR 27x8.5-15 R3’s at 48 psi. The tires they shipped with the tractor are tamped 35 psi maximum. I was interested in this because I use the loader for lifting heavy logs When it’s off lawn duty, and tire squish and steering control have been a concern.
