Well after hours of googling and reading I came across this forum. I seen a knowledgeable thread on the tuff torq but it did not exactly pertain to me.... So I replaced the drive belt on a (new to me) john deere sabre. After doing this it acted like it was stuck in free wheel mode. I could not figure it out I could clearly see the tensioner was tight and it was moving the pulley and fan but I had 0 zero forward and reverse
I just bought the tractor and have never driven it before but before this the free wheel mode would engage and disengage now it just always moves freely.
So after some deliberation I decided to take it apart. I have removed all the parts and cleaned the case I will be ordering a new filter and oil since it looked horrible. But I see no obvious signs of wear gears are fine. As far as I can tell the pump and motor are fine though I understand with the tight tolerances I cant tell without a caliper witch I don't have. So long story short please help! I am lost my only thought is that somehow the pin was out of place. I do wonder if this piece of the free wheel system is facing the wrong way (see pic)
I would hate to put it back together and have it still broken. Any help would be awesome thanks!
