Well the season is coming and you have one or more tires that won't hold air. I take liquid dish soap and mix it about 50-50 with water and paint it on the bead of the tire with the tire broke loose from the rim. If the rim is clean and the tire isn't split this will work most of the time.
I've never had any luck with those sealers because most of them depend on driving at highway speed to warn up and seal.

I'm curious, what type of sealants have you tried that didn't work? If you mean the preasurized spray can "Fix-a-Flat" stuff I couldn't agree more. It's not ment to be a permanent repair and only used to get you to a repair shop so you can get your tire fixed. I avoid using this type as it never seems to work and many tire shops refuse to work on tires that have it in them. One reason is that it's almost impossible to clean out because it isn't water soluable.

There are other kinds of sealants however. They are the preventative type. Usually either have chopped up rubber or fiber strands in them that seal the hole up to a 1/4 inch. Slime is a popular brand that can be found at TSC. When looking for a good tire sealant look for one that has anti-freeze so it works in the winter, has anti rust and oxidation additives to prevent rim rusting, is water soluable so it can be easily cleaned out of the tire, etc... There are usually two different flavors also, non enviromently friendly and the eco-friendly type. I myself use Tireseal in all my tractor tires and have not had a flat in years. When the tires wear out I just drain the Tireseal from the old tires and pump it into the new ones.

Better yet, if the bead is broke loose, you can put a tube in there. -Fordlords-

The title of this thread reminded me of what I use to get the tubeless tire to seat against the rim...use a ratchet strap around the circumference of the thread to squeeze the tire. This will put the bead out against the rim. Fill it with a little air and back off the strap. Remove the strap and finish filling the tire. I use the tire sealant from TSC....the green stuff. Works well in all my lawn tires.

I think slime makes product for low speed tires and a different product for high speed tires.

I agree with livincountry but I use liquid dish detergent and now that I am gaining in girth I can use my belt on smaller size tires. At this point I can use my belt on wheel barrow size tires. I do not think I will ever be able to cinch a 11.2X24 :(. Jay
