Has or does anybody use the "TRAVELLER" brand of Universal Hydraulic & Transmission fluid that TSC carries? How would you rate it in regards to performance and quality compared to "Rotella"? Also would appreciate any comments in regard to Walmart's "Super Tech" oil and fluid. Another thing that puzzles me is, what is the difference between hydraulic fluid and hydraulic oil? I've noticed both descriptions in both stores. I think they are one in the same thing and don't understand the 2 different terminologies. Am I wrong?

Hydraulic fluid? Hydraulic oil? Sounds like a po-TAY-TOE / po-tah-toe thing to me.

I have and do use the TSC nd walmart UTF fluid.

Currently all my 3- sump fords have the TSC oil in them.. and my larger singe sump Ford and NH unit has the wally mart UTF in them.

None of them have exploded yet. been a few years and a few fluid changes like that. The larger single sump tractors pretty much see 'mowing' as thier only chore. Both have remote hyds... I've encountered no weird leaks.. or wet clutch / brake problems.. and no lube related failures.. etc.

I've never used the rotella UTF.

I have used Fina UTF and JD 303 fluid in other tractors, as well as the real NH M2c134D oil.. To tell you the truth.. with sunglasses on.. I can't tell the difference between them while in the tractors.. however I have noticed that if you spill any / all of them on the concrete while doing a service.. ALL of them wil make an oily patch on the concrete.....

I use NH filters.. etc.

Thanks for the reply Soundguy. I think I might give TSC's Traveller Universal Hyd. & Trans fluid a try. They have it on sale in their store at the present time in 5 gal. pails. I might try their engine oil too.

I'm kinda surprised that nobody's mentioned that the wally world stuff is made in China by the devil.;)

I go down to Advanced Auto Parts (closest) and pick up Rotella T by Shell "for tractors". Works great as far as I know. If I don't use that I just use the John Deere stuff, that way I know I get the right vicosity.

My friend an I have been using the travelers premium UTF for several years with no problems.

Just make sure it meets the correct specs for your tractor or application.
