G'day I'm have trouble with the loader when I leave it for a week in 40c temp. The bucket & power steering won't work but the remotes on the back work.

Wow! 40c is pretty darn hot. Do you think it might be due to high pressure developing in a line and locking a valve shut? It would be similar to quick-connect fittings that are held shut by heat generated pressure and will not connect properly. Perhaps you might open one of the fittings on the FEL to see if it is under high pressure.

Another question. . . when you say the "remotes on the back work." Do you mean a 3-point hitch? If you mean additional hydraulic remotes, then you failed to mention whether your hydraulic lift in back works. I just figured by saying "remotes" you might mean the 3-point hitch. Some clarification would help.

How old is your MF362? I saw the number of hours in your profile, but I don't think you mentioned about how old it is.

Oh yes... forgot my manners. G'day mate, and welcome to TBN.

Install a gage in the circuit and determine if you have pressure and flow to the cyl. Test the pressure at the A work port. Maybe your relief is jammed open. Some flow might get to the 3pt and still work, but not at max force.

G'day thanks for your help. The remotes on the the back are the additional ones not the 3PTL. When I have the post hole drill on it has enough power to pick the back of the tractor up. Would this mean that the pump is 2 stage & 1 stage my be buggered? The age of my MF is 1995 but I don't know how you can check. There is a plate in the cab but I'm not aware how that relates to the age.
Regards
Phil

Can you trace out the path of the fluid from pump through all the valves to tank ?

Phil, your 362 is about the middle of the model production. They were made from 1988 through 1999. Your hours are pretty low for that age of tractor.

The data I find says that you have 2-valve hydraulics standard and 4.4 gpm flow and open-center. That's not much flow in my opinion, so the speed of your loader may be a bit low. I still think there is a priority valve stuck or being held closed with pressure caused by the 40c/104f heat. If it works properly when the tractor cools off, you have to consider that something is binding when it gets hot. If your 3PH and remote hydraulics valve works, then look at the location where the loader is attached and the priority valve for the steering. Technically, you can't operate your tractor without steering, so that should have the highest priority, but it's impossible to tell how things were plumbed for your loader. Is it a Massey loader or 3rd party?

When the loader is working normally, did its operation cause the power steering to be weak or operate differently? Is it possible you had an additional hydraulic pump installed when the loader was installed?

I'm asking a lot of questions. I don't expect you to answer all of them here, just use my questions to help brainstorm where your problem could be. I'm just throwing stuff up against the wall to see if any of it sticks.:)
