Trouble light for service flashing

Does anyone know what or where I can find the key to what the flashing lights mean on a JD 4310? I have a flashing light for 4 times long.... and I cannot move my tractor. The engine starts and I changed the hydrostatic oil and filters, but it still does not work. Anyone that knows what is up I am all ears....

Maybe try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Kind of like clearing the check engine light on a car. It might go away, but if problem is still there, it will probably happen again. Good luck.

The disconnect didn't work.

I think I may have a bad hydraulic pump or something. The engine runs and the hydraulics work for attachments, but the hydro drive is dead.....I push on the pedals and nothing happens. I checked the fuses and they all seem good as well.

I just went out and looked at things....took the electrical tape off of the connection point after the seat and sure enough, it was not completely plugged in. I plugged it in and hopped on the tractor and started it up and it is once again moving!!

Especially when the last person I talked to told me that it must be a hydraulic pump and was going to cost me more money to fix.

The good thing is that the filters and fluid needed to be changed anyway.

Which manual did that come out of? He may want to buy one of those for future reference.

I would love to have that manual! The last time I had one of those codes, it turned out to be a blown fuse and a very simple fix. I luckily talked with a tech that knew what he was talking about and was willing to trouble shoot over the phone(especially since the tractor was still under warranty at the time). I am sure they could have helped me out this time as well, but I was able to get a ton of work done today with the tractor, and it sure feels good to have it done.

It came out of the Technical Manual. This one is the CD-ROM version for around $65.

The CD version for the 4310 is part # TM1985CD and the paper version is TM1985.
