I busted the line going to by boom cylinder a while back. I ended up taking the entire boom off and really struggling to get the line removed. Trying to attach photo which should help explain.

All the lines come through a very small opening on very bottom of boom section. There's a canvas wrap around them. I can't even move the line or canvas any further, let alone get the end with the fitting through. I'm perplexed how this can be done...there simply doesn't seem to be even close to enough cross section area to get it out. Hoping it's not something where the lines are originally installed w/o fittings and then fittings added afterwards but it's the only thing I could imagine. That or there is grease and gravel somehow jammed up in there camming it tight (can see or feel any).

Any thoughts much appreciated. Thinking of bringing it to a shop but fail to see what they can do differently

WOW. Can you get the cylinder out ? Might help untangle that mess . Is there a panel on the front of the boom that might give you access ?

None that I see. Looks to be a full boxed in channel.

I can remove the cylinder. In fact I had to in order to remove one end from the cylinder to disconnect the end and was then able to pull it through until the fitting got caught up in the narrow section.

I can't be the first to bust one of these lines on this model and it looks to me like any of the lines would suffer from the same issue. Anyone else had to replace a line on a BH6500?

That's an interesting hose-routing setup. I wonder if all the BH6500s (and 7500s) do it
that way. I am gonna search for some 7500 photos.

My own hoe is a copy of the BH7500 and only 2 of the hoses go thru the enclosed section
of the boom. The others go above it, and are secured with a clamp.

I just changed my 2 longest hoses (bkt) and pulled them thru one-at-a-time. The
2nd one, I tied a small rope onto the end of it to help pull the new hose thru.

This photo shows the boom and swing frame with the 2 bkt hoses removed.

All the photos of both models I've seen have the same routing. On the one hand it keeps the hoses pretty well protected, especial getting around in the woods and things like a small machine like this is good for. But not repair friendly at all.

Maybe I need to push the hose further in to try to loosen it up and then get a pressure washer or something to try to clear out any debris in there that may be jamming things up.

That is a good idea. ... Typically the lines are fed in staggered so 2 fittings never go thru at the same time. This works when everything is new and the sleeve unwrinkled by long term crimping and embedded dirt. ... I dont think you will get the bad line out w/o cutting off its fitting so you can pull it thru. --- Then you have choices. You could put the new line in outside the big sheath but itself unsheathed ... or maybe protect it individually with a small sheath. ... OR, while out, you could have room and remove the whole harness [pull on the sheath to straighten wrinkles], take all proud edges off the hole and be able to pull a whole full sheath back thru.

... If theres any possibility of having room I would favor each line having its own sheath. Much easier to service. :confused3:
