Well I got my stone bucket this weekend and tried it out: It works great! No more back-aches wrestling with stones in the field. You just point the tines under the stone, drive forward, a flip of the joystick and away we go! One note though: I will need to find a way to add more rear ballast; the bucket weighs more and sticks out further than the original. It’s not bad but I had a large load of stones in it last night and I was backing up a little off camber and one rear wheel started going up! Even with the tires loaded more weight would be nice.

Yah, I know... I'm not really a picture taking person, but I'll try to snap a photo of it tonight and post it tomorrow...
My biggest problem with posting pictures actually is sizing them down...? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Go to pixresizer.com and download the free software. Somebody here on tbn told me about it and it works great.

What is a Stone Bucket and how does it differ from the other buckets you can buy for the CUTs? I've not seen one mentioned for a Deere...

What kind of tractor is this for and please post a picture if you can. Thanks!

A stone bucket is made out of steel rods so dirt can sift through but the rocks/stones stay in the bucket. My model has brackets that attach to the bucket with u-bolts so I'm sure it can be adapted to almost any tractor (I plan to eventually weld my brackets in place)
I'm going to attempt to attach a photo. It's not the best picture, I was going to take the bucket off to add the loader quick attach set-up that came in and I was in a hurry. Hope it works...

Holy cow it worked! Now that I know how to do this, I'll try to get more pictures in the future...
Anyway, that's what the bucket looks like and it works great. Certainly much better than my old method which consisted of prying the rock out with a bar and rolling it into the regular bucket. (If you look close on the ROPs in my photo you may spot the stone/rock pry-bar carrying devise). Someone on this web site (sorry for using it) has a line at the end of their posts stating: "If you have to get out of the seat, you're doing it wrong"; that was pretty much my motto when I justified buying the stone bucket!

( Kinda looks like mine without the grapple. Mine is 5' wide. What brand and width is yours?)

I knew someone was going to ask the brand... It's JDM (JMD, JMI) something like that. The mounting brackets kind of cover the manufacturer's logo sticker. It's 53" wide and weighs 453 lbs. I could have gone with the 63" wide but it weighs 510. My original bucket is 60" wide but weighs considerably less so I went with the narrower one.

I looked this morning; it's JRW. Hey, I was close: there's a "J" in it...

I also took a picture of my previous rock removing device. You can see it in the custom rack I made for the ROPs. (The stone bucket is easier... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif)

I want one!! Can't find one in my area. Dealers and farmers alike don't even seem to know they exist. Would love a used one that I can use with Kubota B7800 and front endloader bucket.

I THINK LOFLIN FABRICATION MAKES ONE NOW.

I also have a B7800 with LA402 loader and found out that Virnig is making their Rock Buckets for compact tractors now. The only problem is they only produce them with Universal Skid Steer mounts. Since I have the Quick Attach Kubota on mine I will have to fabricate mounting tabs on the bucket, not a big deal really. The good news is that they charge less without the mount. They are including two 10" plates to assist my mounting. You have to purchase through the dealer but they can drop ship it to the nearest ConWay freight terminal for you to pick up. I think your area is in the same area as mine so the dealer is out of No. CA.

The one I ordered is the SRV54-CT, 54" wide, same as standard 402 bucket, 300 lbs, takes a couple of weeks to get but it will be in Tacoma this Friday. Cost $715.00 plus $116.00 freight. Hope it works out. Either way I will post the results.
