I need help in thinking outside of the box here. I bought a 126 Massey Ferguson Wire Baler and towed it home with my 250 Ford truck about 90 miles with no issues other than driving slow. I now need to get it to my farm in Arkansas about 280 miles away. It's mostly freeway driving except the last 35 miles. The Baler outside tire measurement is about 9 feet or 106 inches. My gooseneck trailer is like 8 feet or 93 to 94 inches wide. The Baler weighs about 2,950 pounds. The overall length is about 17 feet. About 7 feet to the rear from center of the baler to about 9 feet from center of the baler to the front tow hitch. I have a mental block on how to safely transport the baler the 280 miles. I would need to back it up the rear ramp on the trailer to have easy access to unload it. With all said, what's the safest way you transport such a wide baler. Thanks in advance for you experienced guys in moving a wide baler with a trailer.

That's a tough one if you have no way of lifting it onto the trailer , Maybe you could make up a couple of dollies to put under the axle to get it on the trailer.......

Without an oversize load permit, the legal interstate towing width is 102" (8'-6").
You should probably remove the wheels once you get it on the trailer, to decrease the overall width.
If not, and you get stopped my the highway patrol en route, they will likely shut you down on the spot.

It looks to be shorter than it is wide. If so load it sideways and remove the tongue and such. I am assuming the tongue is removable for hauling. Not likely it was not hauled to dealership on a tractor trailer. As to loading it, can you not build a dirt ramp or use trailer ramps placed on the side of your trailer? I have a small dirt road that runs by a field that has been cut enough lower than the field I use it for such from time to time. Find someone locally who has large excavator, will be more than enough to lift and load the baler. Talk with a tractor dealer or heavy equipment dealer or a company that runs heavy equipment. I believe you will find one who is able to have you pull trailer and baler there and load it for you.

Get two loading ramps, back it up the side of the trailer. Best to do it from a high spot to reduce the angle. Block and secure it, remove the tongue and PTO shaft. Reverse the process when you get to destination.

Alternatively, Find a way to lift it on the trailer sans tongue & shaft. Reverse process at destination.

edit to add: Kthompson beat me to the solution ...

In reading hosspuller's post another thought hit me. Do you have a second trailer close to the height of trailer you want it loaded on with ramps that are about same angle as that trailer also? If you do or can borrow such a trailer with your trailer hooked so it does not move chain or strap the second trailer to the trailer it is to be hauled on. Back the baler onto both trailers with one wheel on each trailer. Backing it to where I would suggest the left wheel is near where you want it on your trailer and unhook from it. AFTER HAVING IT WHERE IT WILL NOT MOVE ON IT'S OWN. Then chain or strap that wheel in place so it can not move towards the side and off of the trailer. Use a come along or such to then pull the other baler wheel towards that side in such an angle it will spin the baler onto the trailer it will be hauled on. If you pull it with a tractor be very slow in moving it you sure don't want to pull it off the trailer. If I did not make it clear, you will spin the baler like a tractor with one rear wheel with brake locked to make tight turn.

I believe if you look around you can find someone with excavator that can load it for maybe a very modest price.

Been there, done that. Wasn稚 fun. What I did was back it up as far as I could with 1 wheel lined up on the side. As soon as the other wheel bottomed out, I raised that side with a jack and let the jack act like a dolly. Make sure that you豎*e putting the heavy side on the trailer and use the jack on the light side. I moved a JD 224T with a car hauler before my gooseneck came along.

What’s the inside tire width? Back it onto the trailer, jack up, remove wheels, lower onto blocks, chain it down.

Assuming you can load it on the inside edge of your tires? Carefully load it. Once on trailer, Jack it up with floor jack onto 6x6 blocks and remove tires. Reverse process to unload. Dont forget to bring jack and cordless impact with you
That is what I do, but my trailer is 102 wide with stake pockets/rub rails. Is yours 96 and no more?
