Kubota SUDT or UDT just untill your warranty runs out then use whatever you want that is equivelent.
I have used Mystik JT-5 with no problems.

You can use any fluid that meets the specifications listed in your manual. It does not have to be Kubota fluid to maintain your warraty. Amsoil also makes transmission fluid (Click Here) as do other manufacturers that meet Kubota specs.

I went to the Kubota dealer today to pick up some tranny oil, and I was telling the mechanic I was going to use Amsoil for my first oil change. He said that it wasen't good to use synthetic oil for the first change. He also said for me to use 15w40 all year round. What is another good type of engine oil to use? Thanks

This response is (1) Not unusual and (2) Wrong. Any engine oil, Amsoil included, that meets the API specifications listed in your owner's manual is fine to use. Plus a dino 15W-40 oil sounds a bit heavy to use in CT in the winter. Don't you get below 0F sometimes? A 15W-40 synthetic would be OK.

Thanks for the replys, once in a while it will get below 0. I might just use 10w30 for the winter and when I change the oil next switch to Amsoil 15w40.

I'm using amsoil 15w-40 in MA and suspect I'll have no problems. I used rotella 15w-40 last winter and had some hard starts, mostly because lack of preheating the engine.

And, I agree with MikePA, that's nonsense info the mechanic told you. did you ask: Why? I've just switched to using both synthetic axle and hydraulic oils in one of my tractors-- since it has some better detergent agents in it and should provide for a better "cleaning" if you will...

Also, 10w-30 should be fine too, use an engine block heater or pan heater and you should have no worries. -art

I decided to use the Amsoil 15w40. I think it should be ok for the winter. Thanks for all the help
