I really don't think it will matter. Does the 353 have the sight glass in the rear?

Yes --- when checked Cold ---the level is below full --- when checked after warm up ---it's dead center........never noted that during summer ---it's been close to zero here for the last 2-3 days.....just wondered .....

Hmm. I would not think the viscosity would change that much to see that kind of difference. Are you sure it was on level ground when you checked them both times? It was 5 degrees here today and mine was dead center before starting it.

You will definitely see a difference when the hydraulic attachments are in a different position but if you check the level when they were in the same position with it being hot/cold and saw different amounts I am not sure why that would be. Maybe someone else will chime in here to advise. With the level being good when warm, you are certainly within the safe operating range.

I have always kept mine over the top of the sight glass. Over 700 hours no problem.
