Transmission Gear lights are flashing on the dash, tractor won't start

This just started happening intermittently but more frequently. The N and the H light on the dash of Kioti DK 35 flash on and off. While this is happening the ignition is disabled. When I frig around with the gear selector and/or play with the dash switches it resets to N when the selector is in the neutral position. The ignition is enabled then.
Any idea what is wrong?

it deffinately sounds like a safety switch ( gear selectro ). is either sticking.. or staying engaged and making the machine think it is in gear. might be an adjustment or linkage isue.. or a switch problem.

What version of DK35? Hydro or shuttle? Original 35 or 35SE? What year (first character of serial number)?

Soundguy is correct but the gear versions use actual switches and the hydro versions also use a potentiometer (which can get out of rig or fail). Folks here can't provide more than general advice without details.
