Tranny of 85

I have a Massey Ferguson 85 diesel. it seems to be "stuck" in between gears. This is because i messed up, i did not depress the clutch, i just bumped the shifter. obviously the stick moved but the forks did not. Any idea how i fix it?

sounds like it's stuck IN gear, not between.

shift back into the gear it had been in, then see if it shifts out.

On a ford I'd look at the shift pattern and shifter nub, as well as detents and shifter forks.

( yes.. you may be pulling the trans top to pry it back to N and then work on the worn / damaged parts.

It was technically stuck in between. It was in 3 and N. I had fixed it on my 135 also. I loosened the top plate where the shifter is and it took the tension off and the forks moved. with Massey Ferguson's you need to shift them square you can not slde them by gears.

fords are the same way.... if the shift pattern gets worn.. can cause problems..
