My 4500 4WD has developed a slight seep of tranny fluid at the back left corner of the top plate. This is directly back from the H/L selector. Around the bolt that holds down the corner are three allen head cap screws that are visible, but do not protrude above the surface of the plate. The fluid is seeping out around the "middle" of the three cap screws. I was at the dealer yesterday and the service manager said they had not had a top plate off of a 00 series 4WD model yet. We went out and looked at a 5500, the arrangement is the same. SM said they are not plugs but would have something to do with the shift rails for the H/L selector. He tried turning them with an allen wrench, but they apperar to be some kind of adjustment and not something to just be tightened up. He pulled out the manuals and illustrated Parts breakdowns, but they did not clearly show what we needed to make an intelligent decision. He promised to get back to me after he did some more research, including pulling the top plate on the 5500 we monkeyed with. I am not overly concerned about the leak at this point, it is just a slight seepage around the one cap screw, does not leak enough to cause a pool or drip of any kind. Has any one else notice this? Chet
PS just an observation, but all 4 times I have visited the dealership, I have never seen a Mahindra being worked on, but there has always been at least two SAME tractors undergoing repairs. Hmmmmm.....
