I have a 20' with 7k axles and the bed is 20 some odd inches high. I have 6' ramps, so the incline is not that bad. I have a 2500lb winch I could mount on the front. Do you think that winch would pull up a 3/4 ton truck? Trying to decide if its worth the effort to mount it. I currently use a 3 ton lever hoist to pull up equipment thats not running. Just not sure how to measure rolling resistance for say a 7000 lb pickup....

is that 2500 winch a 2500 dead pull and 4000 rolling? and is it the kind you can pullout enough able and run the line around a tow hook, say, and then hook the winch lead near the winch.. thus halving the speed it pulls.. thus usually helping the weight?

if yes.. then.. yes.. it will likely winch it up.

I used that same setup to winch a 1 ton van onto my 16' car hauler.

i didn't mount it permanently. the winch has a whain plate on it you can temp hook to the winch and then chain from that to the trailer.. etc. which is what I do..e tc..

I got from TSC several years ago and I think it advertised as a 2500#, I'll dig it out and see what it says for ratings.I still have the snatch blocks from when I winch/poles on an old 1 ton hotshot, forgot about using those.

Not enough. I have a 5K winch and while its pulled up a Silverado and a Suburban it was all it wanted. My trailer is only 14" up and I have 5' ramps so I would venture to guess my angle is less than yours.

No, they are the two biggest though. He asked about 3/4 ton. I have a 7K trailer so that is too big of a load for it but I did haul my neighbors Silverado with a bad fuel pump, and a Suburban with electronic issues about 150 miles I have had mainly cars. I would guess 40 now. I would say about half were GM's though. Rest were Ford, Hyundai, Dodge, Kia, Toyota, ect.

Today I will have a Ford New Holland on it if it makes you feel better.
