Trailed forager conversion

Ok I have been reading through these boards for a while now, got some excellent ideas, you guys seem to know what youre doing so I have some ideas of my own that maybe you could help with.

I wanted to know if anyone had tried mounting a trailed forager without the tower bit on a 3 point hitch frame with a hydraulic arm a bit like a mower and using it like as a side mounted topper/flail ???

Hopefully you guys have seen/heard of something like this if not maybe you could have a think about it and give your opinions.

are you talking about a JF machine ? or Elho ?
I have seen these direct cut forage harvesters in use when i was in Finland on a holiday.
JF makes them too: The JF flails are allmost identical in my JF FH210 ?? (not sure about the first two letters of the model) flail mower. Mine has straight blades, as it was used as a straw chopper to chop and spread the combine swath with a tractor and this chopper. The same chopper was also sold with cupped blades like the forage harvester, to cut grass, maize stubble and small brush.

So yes, a flail forager is very suitable to use as a light mulcher mower, as the construction is identical to the ones sold by JF as mulchers. Just cut down the chute and weld a plate back in so it spits the material back to the ground.

p.s. i am trying to find time to convert my JF chopper into a bale spreader: thats what i bought it for 3 years ago, but i just cant find the time to do it: Meanwhile i use it as a pasture topper.

Glad to see someone understands what Im on about. Its actually a Varsta 1500, although I cant find any pictures of it it is similar to this:-

Out of interest how are you planning on turning the Jf chopper into a bale spreader ? Always interested in finding new uses for stuff.

I have wrecked an old Jeantil 3pt feeder, will use the hydraulic cylinders of the loading comb for the muck grab i'm building, and kept the floor conveyor chain and the hydraulic motor, to make a hopper that feeds the bale into the JF chopper. I just dont have time enough....
