Hi all, After viewing some posts I decided to come aboard.I have used an ole 4000 3cyl gas for my landscaping biz for 6 years now we are moving up. New Holland had the best financing options, the nicest looking tractors and I have heard nothing but good about them from owners. Our local dealer came through and almost matched quotes from out of state. When that happened ,the deal was on . My first new tractor.

The new one is waiting on the quick tach bucket to get in . Dealer threw the quick attach bucket in that takes skid steer attachmnts... Here`s ole "fred" soon to be replaced. This 4000 hasn`t been fazed during the grueling work I have put it through.

Hey! Ol' Fred has a hitchpin holding his loader together. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are lots of folks who would love to have that 4000. You are gonna love how the new TC35DA handles, but you will hate having to get off the tractor to adjust your sidelink or toplink. The darn gas tank and high operator's platform make those two things impossible from the seat. Overall, I think you will be happy with the new tractor. That quick attach plate and bucket are worth the wait. It took me about 10 seconds to fall in love with mine when I got it a few weeks ago.

Now, can we talk you into TnT? It's really, really nice... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah that hitchpin is the old fashion way of "slow tach". I never had a stand to get rid of the loader. I hope the bucket the dealer ordered is as heavy duty as the one on it when I traded. The one on it had holes pre-drilled for teeth. Haven`t weighed out pros &cons for teeth on the loader. Is there any different grades of buckets I wonder ? What would TNT be ?Not savy with the terms." Frankie" ,I doubt will be able to load a tandem like ole Fred but .....Its been one week since closing the deal ......bet that bucket is getting closer. I`m in western Illinois . Quad Cities

The bucket with holes is New Holland's heavy-duty bucket. It's only about 35 lb more than the std. bucket, but those 35 lb are in the right spots to make the bucket much stronger. My original bucket was not quick-attach, but it is heavy-duty. In the inside-back of the bucket there's a seam that was not fully welded on my old bucket. I just bought a new heavy-duty quick-attach bucket and that seam is welded completely side-to-side. My old bucket cracked and I welded it up, but I don't expect the new bucket to have the same problem.

You will be very happy with a toothbar on your bucket if you do a lot of digging. An old-time TBNer used to say that it's like putting a bucket on steroids. I agree. Read a few posts here and you'll see everyone with a toothbar is happy with the way they dig. The holes in the sides of your bucket are for a toothbar. The holes along the cutting edge are for a bolt-on cutterbar. It's a solid and reversible cutting edge that makes the front of your bucket very strong. It's not as good for digging as the toothbar, but if you load loose material and do a lot of smoothing/backdragging with the front blade of your bucket. The cutter bar is ideal.

"TnT" is an acronym for Top and Tilt. TnT replaces your adjustable toplink and adjustable sidelink with hydraulic cylinders. You use remote hydraulic control valves to adjust the angle of your implement on-the-fly while doing such things as boxblading or even plowing.

Your new loader should handle loading/unloading off a tandem trailer just fine. It will unload around 1500 lb if you have the proper rear ballast so you don't go over on your "nose". Also, getting the front bumper/brushguard will keep you from messing up that expensive front end on your new TC35DA. That's another $200, but worth every penny. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Lots of the 4000's around here still in use daily. I think you will find your fuel economy goes up as well with the diesel.

Oh Man, I love them 4000s. Yours looks pretty nice. My old diesel 4000 on 38" rears has had a rough life and looks it, but I still love it. Does everything so nice and easy like. Think mine's a '74.

You'll like the TC35 and it'll be more practical for what you do....but I'll bet you'll miss "ole Fred" from time to time.

Thanks for the info on the bucket. I hope I will find out tomorrow AM if my quick attach bucket will be a heavy duty unit. The original setting on the showroom had the predrilled holes. We struck a deal when the dealer agreed to "throw in" the quick tach bucket. Since then I have awaited the hardware and the different bucket which as of 01300hrs 2/21 it is in. My sales guy is in route from Daytona returning from the 500. I had not even considered there may be a different grade bucket if I went to a quick tach. Yes ,the memories of "Fred" pulling the 84" Gill double roller pulverizer in third low running a straight pipe in close quarter residential as we are finishing off another lawn prepared to have new seed & fert drug in.That 3cylider gas could really bark. I will miss that, along with weeds higher than the hood being eaten by the Rhino 6ft rotary mower using every pony Fred could muster on a hot muggy day. Hopefully "Frankie" will "handle "similar missions assigned from the operator seat.

I think all quick-attach buckets are heavy duty. The std. duty buckets I've seen are all pin-on buckets. If you have a quick-attach bucket coming, I don't think you have any worries about it not being heavy duty. All you have to worry about is all those additional implements you will want to buy because it's so easy to change out with a quick-attach FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
