Traded 54" MMM for 60" RFM

What do you think of this?

Just traded my '05 810 54" MMM for an '06 631 60" RFM. Traded even-steven.

The Guy bought a 6284 w/FEL and RFM earlier this year. Apparently did not like the RFM as it made the tractor and mower to long and difficult to manuver.

Can't believe my good fortune! I really wanted the RFM but could not afford it.

Alan, what made you want to trade for a RFM? I have the 60" MMM and is one of my favorite things about my 5252.

Were you just looking to step up to a 60" deck, or did you specifically want a RFM?

Do you have to weight the front of your 5254 when using a RFM?

Mike,

Definately have to weight the front. This mower weighs in at 495 pounds.
Probably did not have over 15 hours on the MMM in two years of ownership.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the MMM, works great. However, I use my tractor almost exclusively with the 3pt hitch, box blade, pulling, or hauling.

The convience and ease of the 3pt hookup was what sold me. I can hookup or unhook the RFM in under 10 minutes, compared to about 45 for the MMM. This is not any design fault, but the fact that I have arthritis pretty bad and also the lack of a good level place to work on the tractor. My storage building is only 10 feet wide.

I would have bought the RFM when I purchased the tractor but could not justify the extra cost to the wife. This sure has worked out great for me.
