What should I do? I have a Shibaura SP1540 with tiller and loader. A guy wants the tractor for loader work. He will trade me a Yanmar 1300D with finish mower, 4 ft back blade and tiller plus 1500.00 is this a good trade. I use the loader to load my welder I will miss that Both tractor are in good shape everything works on his, mine will not charge and seal in hyd pump needs replaced. If later I want a loader what will be the cost and will it lift 565 lb (welder) I do not have to move it just lift and back under it.

sounds like you could lift the welder with a 3 pt boom pole, which would cost a lot less than a loader (or $1500).

The 1300D is a Very small tractor , To small to carry the weight of a loader Much less use it to pick up or Push much weight IMO .

I have a 1300D for sale, The Guy that said He,d buy it wanted a loader for it . After reasearching cost He Found it cost Prohibitive at 3600 bucks installed . 1600 bucks more then I want for the tractor .

It would Probablly be a good trade if His is in decent shape & You dont need a loader . But I suggest You try it first , I can barilly get on & off of Mine. . Best of luck, Bob

It sounds like a good deal to me. A boom pole is a good solution if all you need to pick up is a welder. I've had a couple customers with YM155d's w/loaders. They really liked them. I can supply you with a loader for a lot less than $3600.

I don't know....what's in it for you other than $1500? Sure, we'd all rather end up with a Yanmar. After all, the Yanny is definitely the most technically sophisticated machine...and probably the most durable to come out of Japan as well. But the Shibaura wasn't bad. After all, Shibaura made tractors for Ford for many years. All those blue 4wd Ford compacts you see are re-badged Shibauras.

Personally I couldn't live without my loader, $1500 won't change my life, and I have no use for a finish mower at all. If your welder weighs over 500 lbs, I'm guessing that is going to be as much as the YM1300 would want to handle at the 3pt. If the 500 lbs weight is hanging out very far past the end of a 3 pt arms I don't know if the tractor will lift it. You had better check that out first. The 1300 will probably need front end weight too.

Well I waited to hear from anyone for a week onone said don't do it till it was to late so I told the guy I would trade. My front end has alot of play I guess from the loader so that's going to need work too tired of working on it needs more than I can do right now. the 155's have loaders so what give? Is the 155's better than the 1300's if so why? The loader if I do get one will be down the road. Thanks all
