I am currently working on a trade to upgrade my 2320 to a 3320 tractor. What I am trading in is a 2320 , 200CX loader and 62D drive over deck.I am also trying to include my 48" rear mount Lorenz snowblower, since all I really use it for is a rear weight. Pushing snow around with the front loader is a lot easier.

The new configuration I am considering is a 3320 with the 300CX loader and a 72" rear finish mower. I don't have a great deal of obsticles on my yard so the rear finish mower should be fine.

The main reason I'm doing this is I've got the itch and I really would like the faster hydraulics and larger loader for pushing snow around and other various jobs. I've had plenty of chances for pushing snow this year.

What I would like to know is what other cool things will I be gaining going from the 2320 to the 3320. I may need a little more amo to convince the wife of what I'm doing.

I recently downsized my tractor from a JD 4310 to a 2320. The 4310 is/was very similar to the 3320. The things I miss most from the 4310 are faster better hydralics, 3 speed EHydro vs 2 speed nonE Hydro, 4in 1 bucket (2320 doesn't have enough hydralics to operate one), and comfort (better seat and seat suspension, tilt wheel) and little things like cup holders and storage compartments. The 4310 was just too big to trailer back and forth between our Camp in the Adirondacks and home, about 200 miles. I like having the 2320 home for the winter to do the snow removal and in the spring some Backhoe projects... then it goes back to the Camp for mowing, and bachoe duty when needed.

Like JC just mentioned--I'd have to say the biggest benefit of moving to a 3000 series is the 3-range hydro.

Thanks for the information.

I'm hoping to get some price quotes today so I'll see then if I can afford to do it.

Hi:

I have a 4720cab (Just traded my 3720cab), had a 3320 open, and have a 2305 also (2005).
You'll love the increased lift, speed, etc. Also the 3 speed makes a huge difference.
You'll like the E-Hydro for cruise, etc. but the feel of the mechanical hydro on the 2000 series is great.

Get the Mid-PTO even if you don't have a use for it, it'll help trade in/resale.
I'd recommend the automotive type cruise control (cheap). Also, unless you
are tall I'd spring [no pun intended] for the air ride seat(expensive). I'm 5'6 and 230 and with the mechanical spring seat on the 3320 I couldn't really adjust the height. So either I was reaching to my limit for the hydro's, or bouncing since if I lowered the seat the spring tension wasn't enough for my weight. The air seat (Had one in my 3720 and have one in my 4720) is real, real, sweet. Folks complain about the 2000 series seats, but for me I'd rather have the 2000 seat with no suspension than the spring seat standard on the 3000 series. Taller operators would probably disagree with me.

I'd also go with the rear mower. The MMM on the 3000 series doesn't lift as high
as that on your 2320 and you'll bang the cra# out of it doing tractor stuff.
It also doesn't come on and off as easy as the 2000 series and it'll lose the height
setting when taking it off. I used the 72" MMM with my 3320 and it does a superb job
mowing but when I put wheel extenders on my 3720 (same deck) it became such a pain to put on and off I went with an 84" RFM and never looked back. Maybe with the Auto-Connect it would be nicer but they didn't have that when I got mine.

P.S. the 3320 will run an 84" RFM fine. When I got mine the dealer lent me one until
the MMM came in.

On the 3320 the R4's are decent and unless you have soft soil won't dig in too much except if you turn tight or use 4wd. I ran R4's on my 3320, R3's on my 3720 and now my R3's on my 4720. Unless you'll be in very soft dirt or mud you might want to consider R3's. They are actually better on hard packed soil, snow, and ice. Also if you put chains on them they support the chains better.

Get the Ballast box with extension and fill it - You'll need it with the 300cx. I'd probably fill the tires too but that's your choice. On my 3320 I mowed with the large R4's filled and still usually didn't leave marks.

Also, I trailered my 3720cab on a 10,000lb Peaque Skid Steer trailer (Same trailer should hold my 4720 but with no implements, just the loader) 200 miles each way between VT and MA all the time. It's all a matter of perspective. Although undeniably the 3320 is a bigger beast to trailer than the 2320.

Hi, Sioux Falls was my home town until uncle sam got me in '68 (haven't lived there since), but my dad and sisters do.

I love my 3320, had 2520 that broke after 5 months and JD couldn't fix it fast enough for me. I love the starting in gear and how quiet it is. Get the block heater for sure and maybe some extra hyd out the back to run other equipment (top/tilt etc.)

I have the smaller R4 and use chains on all 4. I don't think chains fit the tall R4s. I also run the R4s switched side to side to gain 1.5" width.

If I was to do it again, I would get a bigger and the heavy duty bucket to move snow faster. 3320 is a nice ride unless you have steep hills (my driveway is) so a turbo would have been nicer.

Note: I just got my FEMCO weather brake from TSC in SF as we don't have any in Colorado. Was $329 + tax (no shipping) and they got it in a week.

I just got some pricing yesterday and it looks like I'll be waiting. The price is a little out of my budget and with the long lead times for delivery it wouldn't even be here in time to help with all the snow anyway.

Maybe another time

Thanks for all of your help

Did you consider looking at a used unit?

Nuru makes a good point. I bought a used 3320 a year and a half ago. Been well pleased. I saved thousands and got a tractor that was "as new".

I found a used one I really like but the dealer won't give on the price. I found a 2007 3320 with 250 Hrs and a 300CX loader that they want $7500 with my trade in of my 2320. For this one I would still need to buy a rear finish mower since it doesn't have a mid pto.

Since I need to finance this amount the 0% on a new one looks about the same price.

My price to trade for a new one with a mid moiunt mower was 12,500.
