Barry,

I see you have some land like mine. This was sticking about 2 1/2 inches out of the ground and every now and then, the mower would catch it. So one day I decided to take it out figuring it was one of the hundreds of pumpkin size rocks that I have located. This was when I just had the Farmall 560 with no FEL. I took to it with the shovel and 4 hours later I was able to hook a chain to it and drag it out.

Barry:

that ain't not rock but it looks like it was thinking of being an orbiting MOON at one time! lol

I have some but so far none that size... one that is still in the creek that the woman wants left there is 4+' x 3' x ?? deep. it has ~1' sticking up and is more of a pear shape above ground, in the creek. I hooked my tractor to it, JUST FOR FUN and well the wet dirt simply slid out from under all 4 tires. not a budge. lol anyhow maybe this week I'll hook up the backhoe to dig around it a bit to see if I can get it loose.. I have some out already in the 3'Cubed size. using only FEL & BOX blade. but hey if at first it don't budge, run into it harder right! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's a crap shoot with the rocks around here - anything that's sticking up could be just a typical smaller rock, or it could be one of those ones that go down to the core of the earth. Never can tell! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm just gonna cut the top off of the one that's intruding in the riding ring. The guy with the Deere 550H dozer couldn't move it, so it's staying I guess! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
