Having not researched this, I know it's happened in the past but I haven't heard of any of this type of activity recently.

I'm talking about corporate acquisitions-mergers ... in the tractor manufacturing arena.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear some interesting news in the not too distant future.

DISCLAIMER: I HAVE HEARD OF NO RUMORS and I AM NOT ATTEMPTING TO CREATE ANY RUMORS. This is just a "what-if" kinda thang.

We know where NH went. NH and Ford, are domestically controlled companies. I was thinking about the other colors.

Can anyone see Kubota, for instance gobbling up another manufacturer, say Kioti? There are severe cultural hurdles to leap, but it could be lucrative.

JD has many tentacles in the asian markets. It could happen, say, Mitsubishi acquires JD.

We can't assume that the current and most widely practiced business model, namely global licensing and cross badge production agreements is necessarily the best or that it won't change.

The Korean and chinese manufacturers might possibly benefit both domestically and overseas (i.e. USA) for instance if they found a good model to merge with.

To some extent, with the way this industry is currently doing business (re-badging, re-licencsing, smoke, mirrors, and entreprenurship), one could argue the need. But someone somewhere will always make THAT argument if it makes more money.

Any other ideas?
