My jd 5083 will not start after running hard. It takes from 30 minutes to an hour wait. The dealer suggested to change the fuel pump. That didn't work. It is so frustrating in middle of cutting hay to stall and have to wait. Any other suggestions?

Grab a can of silicon spray as it is combustible enough but wont lock it up as using starting fluid spray it in air intake when this happens if it starts with this assist then look at fuel pressure hot and cold conditions take a can of spray with you wont fix problem but might get you home

My guess would be you have some junk in your fuel tank and what happens is during operation the junk gets sucked to the bottom of the tank and blocks the fuel outlet or the tank is not venting correctly. After seating for awhile enough suction is release and it floats out of the way.

One think to try is take off the fuel cap and see if that helps. Since the engine is hot when this happens, I do NOT suggest pulling off fuel lines to see, if you have fuel unless you can find a safe stop to pull off the line, plus you may need to bleed it once you do this.

Before attempting to start engine pour cool water on inj pump then see if you can start it.

My Kubota 7040 will suck an air bubble into the injection pump requiring an injector bleed if its stalled heavily. I believe its the cheap spring clips on the rubber suction lines letting air by but I haven't confirmed it yet. Have you tried bleeding the injectors when it won't start?

Did you get the problem fixed? We all like to know a solution.

I own a larger Allis Chalmers tractor and it does the same. I have not found the problem yet.
I think I may have a fuel line or fitting allowing a little air into the system. Could be an
issue with the injection pump and something sticking inside not allowing fuel to flow.
