Tires Tractor Tyres (or Tires)

My Kubota B2410 has always been fitted with turf tyres, and around my small holding it has always been fine and never come near to getting stuck.
So last weekend I took my tractor to a 'real' farm to do some hedge cutting.
My friend said his fields were a bit boggy, and I replied with, "that doesn't matter, this thing will go anywhere"
2 hours later I was down to the axles with the phone in my hand asking for help!
So how much better are agri tread tires, coz I've heard people say that they're really good.

Ag tires are great in the soft dirt.

In mud ag tires will either dig you out or dig you in deeper and faster than turf tires.
Turf tires tend to load up with mud and turn into spinning drums that just sit on top and provide little or no traction at this point.

Ag tires do not fill with mud as easy and tend to either pull you through or dig deeper holes quicker.

Some people worry about lawn damge but that was never an issue with my BX1850 and the "lug or Bar" style tires.

Ah yes, you're right, my turf tyres did just fill up and turn into completely smooth round bits.

The trouble is, my hedge cutter weighs 300kg and I've only got 45kg of front weights, so it's very heavy over the back end.
What is the maximum weight you could put on the front?

I am not sure what the max recommended weight is for the front of a B2410. Does the owners manual say anything?

You may want to just consider getting a set of chains to put on for those rare occasions that you need to work in the wet conditions. I think that might be a better option than the narrow ag tires that will probably dig some nice ruts. The chained turfs will still float better, yet have better traction, and possibly not make a mess of things.

Not trying to be a smart *** or say anything more than, the key when getting stuck is to know when to STOP trying to get unstuck. There is usually something that could be figured out before continuing spinning and burying it up to the axles, because then you have a much bigger problem getting it out.

My Deere 3005 has R4 industrial tires which get stuck in minimal mud on mild slope. So in the winter I switch it out for the Kubota B2710 which has half worn R1 Ag Tires and seems to go just about anywhwere.

Yes I completely agree. The thing is, the tractor is Hydrostatic, and I was creeping forwards very slowly whilst hedge cutting. I was concentrating so much on the hedge cutter that I hadn't realised I was getting stuck, and thought the forward pedal had probably lifted, so I pushed it down a little more. To be fair, it was very boggy.
