My first post to TBN and I hope someone can help me out... my local Tractor Supply (Central Vermont) now has 3pt chippers in their yard with the FarmForce name. The chippers do not have any manuals or other documentation. I've asked around and no one at the store could offer me any details as to minimum PTO horsepower, branch size etc.

I presume these are made in China. Hopefully I've correctly attached some pictures I took this morning. I welcome your thoughts and opinions!

I can remember you need a minimum of 7HP per inch of green wood diameter provided the rest of the machine can take it.

Habsfan, I assume the TSC store you are speaking about is in North Clarendon. This chipper has some interesting features. Looking down the chute, there appears to be a mechanical feed. Is that run off the PTO or is it hydraulic? I would be interested to know the asking price. They must give you some specifications, like the PTO HP compatability, maximum size into the chipper, etc. I spent quite a while looking at chippers before I pruchased a BX-42 Wallenstein earlier this summer. I am sure I didn't run across this one.

Clearly made in China. Jinma, or Jinma clone. Plenty of reading here on them. If I remember correctly, the 4,6, and 8 inch capacity chippers are all basically the same. The feed roller is run off a belt driven gearbox. Hard to read the price..... looks like $1900 ?? More or less average for the Chinese chippers. Shooting from the hip I'm guessing it weighs 900 lbs or so? I've never seen a chipper at a TSC before.

Another Jinma chipper clone. Probably has the same flywheel. Out of the crate weights around 800 pounds. 25 pto horse power minium for 6 inch stuff.

It will need a good prep before putting to work. Also may need / recommend a belt up grade.

This chipper is at the TSC in Montpelier and it is priced at $1,599 and it is not hydraulic feed. I've read a lot of posts from folks who are happy with their Jinmas. Unfortunately, I am not mechanically inclined so I hesitate to purchase this without the manual, or at the very least basic instructions and toll free number for help much less someplace local that would service this for me if a repair beyond my ability is necessary. I have a Kubota B7610 and with the chipper weighing in at +/- 900#, I question whether this would be too much for my tractor. I would not chip more than 3" since anything bigger than that is firewood to me. I like the price tag but the bitterness of poor quality lingers longer than the sweetness of a cheap price.

I have not found anything on the web or TBN on this chipper and hopefully someone out there has some experience with this Farm Force chipper. Thanks for your comments so far.
