I was wondering what everyone thought of the stability of the 7610 and its ability to cross and/or climb hills. We are VERY close to buying one but I am still a bit concerned on its stabilty due to the fact my property is hilly and uneven. Some are saying the BX23 would be far more stable but with widening the wheels it seems the 7610 should be about equal. Other than loading the tires is there any other ways to make a tractor more stable? Oh I am planning on getting the R4 tires so I can get around in the woods area a bit easier.
Thank you for the information!

This was a concern of mine also. I ended up with the 7610 with Bar/Turf tires. (loaded rear) I got it with the loader and 60" MMM. I mow my field on some pretty steep hills (across) and have little problems. (I use 4wd off and on. I find it much safer especially when decending a steep hill) I take the loader off always (tried it once or twice with it on and it was less stable) Also found that the 60" MMM also doubles as a 370 lb anchor. It's much heavier than I am and is only 4" off the ground. However the Bar/turf tires are wider (different sized rims than R4 also) and not as tall as R1 or R4 or Turf. So R4's would make my 7610 taller and perhaps slightly narrower. (not sure how far the R4's could be pushed out)

I use the 7610 quite a bit in the woods with a box blade and loader. The bar/turf tires are adaquate for my uses. Also use them for snowblowing in the winter. (you guessed it, steep driveway) Without a doubt, I think R4s would be better in the woods, but the lawn thanks me for not having them (I'm sure) and they provide excellent traction in winter (probably due to a soft rubber compound)

-enjoy

Great info - thank you. I just ordered my 7610. Got the 60" wheeled mmm, R4's, the 352 loader (the heavy one) and the tires loaded so I figure I should be in good shape. I bought it from my local dealer (State Eqpt) and they were very nice and the price was great! I can't say enough on how helpful they were in picking a tractor and no pressure at all.
Thanks for the info!

I now own a BX23. Compared to my prior B2410 there was no difference in stability. I kept the rear wheels on the B2410 spread to the widest position and the ride was as stable if not more stable as the BX on hilly surfaces.

I am having the wheels set all the way out also and feel it should be excellent on the hills. Thanks for the info!

A short while ago I upgraded from a G2160 to a 7510. I never considered the grade in my back yard to be that great.
That was until I got the 7510. WOW the first time I drive it across the steep part of my yard I thought I was going to soil myself. All I thought about was less than .25 hours on it and I am going to roll this puppy. Well if it were not for the years of 4 wheeling I have done I think she would have went. I was able to cut the wheels down hill and tromp on the go peddle. So just be very careful the first couple times over the steep parts, and while you are there go thought what you think you will need to do if she starts to go. I was told that I could move the wheels out to the farthest hole too. DO NOT DO THAT!!! You have to make sure that the axel shaft is at least flush with the hub. If not you will break the hub and ware out the seal and bushing on the pumpkin. I am having a guy in CA look into making a larger / longer hub to move the tires out a couple inches. If you want me to keep you guys updated on it let me know. I still have to send him a hub to look at, so it will be a while.
