Tractor Smells Like Gas - Help Please

Happy fo find a tractor forum like this.
I have International harvester 434 tractor gas model. don't know the year it was made, no owner manual.
but I came with a bucket and a bush hog as a package.
I don't know why it smells like gas when I run it. Can someone help me please?

Guessing either your sediment bowl is leaking a tad, or, may just be the fuel tank venting fumes. A 544, 504, and my 656 get warm enough when working them, you can actually see vapors under pressure coming out of the vent in the fuel cap. The 544 years ago would get so much pressure, on a good hot day when mowing, it sounded like a tea kettle starting to whistle.

Just the nature of the beast's I guess, being all 3 did/do it.
