I am curious who you guys use for tractor insurance. I up until recently had mine on my home owners insurance, which is really a farm insurance policy. In the farm policy I have some farm buildings listed, some harness and wagons, as well as my kubota RTV, my John deere gator, and my JD 4066R. A couple of weeks ago a kid of the welder I often hire on the weekend was here driving the kubota to spread some manure, and I am not certain how/why he did it but he drove it off a hillside and it rolled 3 times and suffered significant damage. The driver was unharmed thankfully and I was not that worried because I had it listed on my insurance with a value of $12K not enough to replace it with a new one but a decent amount to put towards a new one. so I brought it to the dealer for an estimate and called my insurance. 2 weeks later I came to find out that my claim was denied because the type of peril listed was not in my policy. so after a bit of steaming I am in the market for insurance that will cover my tractors in the event of serious damage in the event of something like a rollover.

That's an interesting point. My tractor is covered under my home owners insurance also - Personal Property. It's covered for everything that my home is. Since my home is very unlikely to be involved in a roll over situation - I wonder if the tractor would be covered. I will be asking my agent about this next time I'm in town.

Better yet - I just sent the agent a query via email. I'll let you know what they say.

I normally don't carry insurance, but since I'm financing my new tractor New Holland required me to have coverage so I bought it through them and blended it with my monthly payment. It's $15/month for their insurance which I felt was less than I could have gotten it from any local agent.

My L4060 is insured on my homeowner's policy for fire, natural disaster, vandalism, and theft. Anything I do to it is not covered, and there is no coverage when off the property.

I have my tractors scheduled on a farm policy with Auto Owners for actual (depreciated) value. This covers the equipment & liability on and off the property but for hire is a big no-no. Annual premium comes to be about 3% of value. ($30k = $100) No claims experience yet thankfully. I also purchase a liability umbrella policy for additional CYA coverage.

Went through whoever the dealer recommended and included it in my monthly payment. Full coverage including off property coverage for $9 mth.

Mine's now through my USAA policy. It covers anything I do with it or to it, both on or off the property.

So far, knock on wood (taps head) I haven't needed it for anything.

Fingers crossed.

Mine wasn't! Thanks for the thread. Getting a quote back later this week as my agent can't get one today. I've almost rolled mine before and I wouldn't like to be S.O.L if it happens come spring season.

currently I am with Farmers, and my tractors are listed under P/L Farm Endorsement - Equipment, but I am in the market now. I am in So Cal, a real agricultural area so I am having some challenges.
