I read a blog about a person helping a neighbor, using his tractor. The information in the blog stated be careful your insurance may not cover you if it's damaged off your property. Well that got me thinking on checking with myou insurance agent. I have Erie home, auto, etc. Well to my surprise my agent stated "IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PROPERTY WITH YOUR TRACTOR FOR ANY REASON YOU ARE NOT COVERED " Thats fire, flood, theft, hail, etc. Well now, since 1975 I've owned John deere tractors, had loaders, front plow/blades, and mowers. Helped next door neighbors (daughter on one side ) from grass cutting, snow removal and loader use. My agent said I was lucky nothing happened. Part two of this surprise on my policy was, if I have a ROLLOVER causing damage MY tractor on my own property a I am NOT COVERED.
I currently own a 1025r TLB. I purchased a flyer to cover me on my tractor anywhere, anyplace, doing anything. $94.00 a year. I asked was this a industry standard? He said it was Erie's, and thought probably all insurances had similuar.
You Folks better check your policies!
