after watching an airshow I began to wonder if there was a way to create mosquito killing fog from my tractors exhaust....how is it done with airplanes? I imagine a bottle of mosquito fogging solution with a tube leading to perhaps a fitting in the exhaust system.perhaps injecting into the muffler??? or else a heat exchange tube strapped to the exhaust manifold and a tube directing the fog into the mower deck or exhaust tip ?? any ideas how this might work easy and cheap without damaging my tractor?

Unless you are working your engine very hard … I do not think you will get your exhaust gasses hot enough to use thermal fogger juice.

You can try it using mineral oil. If your temp stays high enough to keep mineral oil fogging, you may be able to meter mosquito thermal fogger juice. KennyV.

How are you going to avoid fogging yourself?

Do a searce on e-bay. I got two cheap. It needs to be mounted on a pushmower so you can stay away from the exaust. Man it looks just like a sky writer and works pretty well. Run when its calm or no wind for best effect.

hey great! I have a push mower... However my latest mind flash was to use my Knipco heater to both create and blow the fog... will post if it works.. the problem is Mills Fleet Farm put all thier skeeter fog products away for christmas stuff! Whoda thunk we'd have such a skeeter problem in October anyway?! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I used to be mechanic in the Army. I used to work on armored vehicles that have smoke generators built onto the engine. What you'll have to do is get some stainless steel tubing and fittings that will allow you to run the tubing into the exhaust pipe. Weld the fittings on the exhaust pipe near the manifold (don't forget to drill the hole for the pipe to enter the exhaust pipe!). The other end of the tube attaches to a solenoid valve. The other end of the solenoid vale goes to a pump, then to the fogger solution. Wire the solenoid to a switch on your dash.

A word of warning: Always wait until your engine is up to operating temps before turning the fogger on. Also, after turning the fogger off, keep your engine running for a few minutes so the residue doesn't clog the pipe.
