tractor back firing, rpms way too high

Previously posted thread for cub cadet 125 won't stay running, got it running but it is back firing and when I throttle up to engage mower deck, rpms jump way too hi, any suggestions?

Check the governor system to make sure nothing is hanging up. I once blew up a small engine when it over reved.
