any one here use that vac. system or one like it? how does it fair? does it fill up too fast? i am looking to get a vac system, and like how this is small, yet has a strong motor, and large intake.

i would be using this on a kobuta either a 1850 or 2350 with a 54'' deck

I have that model for my JD F735. It is a great unit. I had it mounted up to a 60" mower. It made me have to go slow to pickup leaves. Filled up the container over 10 times to do my lawn.
Last spring I found a good deal on a Trac-Vac model 880. It takes 2 loads to clean the lawn.
If you have room for a trailer mounted Trac-Vac. It is much easier to deal with than trying to mount the 462 on the back of a tractor. I modified mine to fit in a 2" receiver hitch.
Also consider the 452. It is easier to install and remove.
I still have my 462. Plan on selling it. Looks like you are a good distance from me though.

does it mount to the 3 point or the hitch? i really dont have the room for the trailer version, i wish i did, but does the barrel hold more than say the bagger systems? like one with 3 bags?

when you say it made you go slow to pick up leaves, was it because it was doing a poor job, or you were more aware of the picking up the leaves

actually after looking the 662 model might be better, it uses the 3 point, and has 2 barrels, i think that sould work well

The 662 is a better system for a tractor with 3PH. Should be easy to mount.
I have to go slow because a 60" mower feeds more to the 6" hose than it can handle. I do not use the Trac-Vac for grass pickup. Even with the 8" I have to slow down. But it handles the the volume much better than the 6". With a 54" mower you should not have a problem. Though you will have to slow down if leaves are heavy.

You also need to consider the denisty of the leaves that you need to remove. I have a 5HP Hasty Vac with something like a 34 barrel capacity (its a tow along) that I use with a cub 2544. I empty that unit every 15 minutes or so. If I had the single trash can model - the time would be reduced to every few minutes and would be pretty much unworkable (more time spent emptying than vacuuming).

The other thing to consider are obstacles. For around the house/landscaping - the single trash can model will work much better than a larger tow behind model. For wide open areas - the larger unit will work better. It really depends on what you have more of. For around the house - I use the leaf blower to get the leaves out in the open. Since you are thinking of using this on a compact utility - it doesn't sound like you have too many narrow/tight passages to worry about so a larger unit might not be a problem for you.

BTW - when you get your trac vac - also order the remote pick-up wand. Very convienent for getting leaves off the flower beds.

Just things to consider.

I suggest you consider the trailer type because its much less hassle to hook-up, dump and maintain. Its storage volume can't be beat by the garbage can versions. My Woods even hooks up to my 72" mid-mount mower. To handle the wet leaves, twigs, pop bottles newspapers, grass and leaves takes a large diameter feeder hose. I upgraded mine to 12". This meant modifying the suction turbine inlet, too. Now it has enough grunt to pull in all mower output, including the occasional stone. My Woods is now a tricycle design with a caster wheel on the tongue. In this way, any tractor or my 4 wheeler can pull it along. I attach a conventional suction mouth on the feeder hose for doing leaves along fence lines. You need enough storage capacity on-board to keep from having to make too many runs back to the dump pile.
