Hopefully a kubota soon
Ok I like the looks of the 2200 but have read things on here about the low ground clearance and trouble with hooking up attachments on the 3 point hitch. I like it alot more because it's cheaper than the 7500 but I've been leaning towards the 7500 because I think I will add lots of attachments for the rear PTO over the years and from what I've been seeing on here it can take alot more of them and they go on easier. True???But because of price and the fact that I'm going to build a new house in the next 6 months ( big money drain ) if I do buy the 7500 I might have to buy it without the front loader. Can you all help me. Pros and cons of both would be helpful. I own 5 acres, it's on a slight hill nothing steep. Would like to use it for mowing, snow removal, gardening and for helping me with the new house. How useful is the box blade? What other attachments are really useful??The only physical difference I'm having trouble with is the seeming lack of foot space when you step up on the 7500 compared to the 2200. I'm a big guy. Prices I have been quoted.
2200 -- $12,050.00 + tax 7500 -- $14,325 = tax includes 60 in. mower and loader on both. Thanks for your time.

How many years do you plan on keeping it?
2k over X number of years may help you decide.
On the FEL get a toothbar and hook.
A box blade is good for dirt work, what about a roto-tiller instead if you can afford it for your garden.
A blade is good for snow and some dirts.
A york rake is just plain handy for most everything else....

Any other riders? How do they feel about the size? Which one do YOU feel really comfortable on?

One thing about ground clearance..... I'd rather clear it than run over it and break something (it or the tractor).

I'm a big guy also, 6" 4" with a size 14 foot. I have the BX2200 with a curtis soft side cab on it, loader, tiller, and box blade. I really have no problems hooking up the attachments to it. My brother-in-law has the B7300 with loader, back blade, and brush hog. He is 6' 1" We live 80 miles from each other but have worked both tractors side by side on some projects. Both tractors have pros and cons. The BX2200 will not take a back hoe if you are looking at that for the future. For a back hoe you would have to move up to the BX22. More money true but you know what you need your tractor for. It all depends on which you feel more comfortable with and your wallet. Hope this helps some with your decision. Tractor safe!

If 80% of you use will be cutting grass then the BX is the way to go. If landscape projects moving a lot of heavy soil over a rocky area then the additional clearance will help. Is your new land flat, or hilly with a lot of stumps, another advantage of the b7500? Have you looked at the new Kioti CK20, it may be an alternative price wise between the b7500 and the BX, just guess on the price. I have a BX and love it, I looked real hard at the B7500, but 95% is grass cutting for me, and the BX is the best for that. I have a tiller and 3 pt snowblower and the BX handles it with no problem. I think the biggest problem with 3pt implements on the BX is if you use a post hole digger. The rest of the implements are smaller and just take a little more time to complete which gives you more seat time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck

milkman,

I've never considered it particularly difficult to put on 3pt implements, and I doubt it's any more/less difficult betweena BX and a B7500. The big difference here is the BX is lower to the ground, so there are some implements that will fit a B7500 but not fit so well on a BX. For example, I have a TSC sub-soiler that is too long for the BX to transport with it on. It needs to be about another 4" higher to clear the ground. Don't ask how I use it /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Another example is post-hole diggers. On a BX, you sometimes have to go with a shorter auger so you have ground clearance for transport.

If going with a B7500 precludes getting a FEL, then you might consider the fact that a BX with FEL might be more useful than a B7500 without, depending on how you will use them. There are dirt scoops that mount on the 3pt hitch that might be an adequate substitute on the B7500 until you can get a FEL, again, depending on how you will use it.

If mowing is going to be a big use, the BX might have a slight edge (with MM mowers. For a RFM, the B7500 would probably handle a larger one). If you need the ground clearance, the B7500 has a definite edge. It's a tough choice. The two machines aren't really that far apart in capabilities. It's a matter of whether the areas where there's a substantial difference is worth the trade-offs in other areas. You will probably be happy with either machine, but one or the other may make you a little happier. Good luck.

Have you considered a rear mount mower for the b7500? They are much less expensive than a mid mount and may save you enough money to get the bigger machine as well as the FEL...

Re: Tough decision BX2200 or B7500(NY Yankees Fan)

why does everyone say the 2200 cuts grass better when the dealers all tell me the 2200's mower hangs from the frame the mower on the 7500 rides right on the ground so it mows better. Most of my time will be spent mowing.

Re: Tough decision BX2200 or B7500 (to riptides)

I plan on keeping it a long time. I feel most comfortable sitting and getting on and off the 2200

what you have are three of the attachments I would like to have. It helps knowing you have no problems with them
