I forgot who it was that suggested this mower, but THANKS! Having run over my old Husqvarna with the Kubota in the middle of growing/mowing season, I had to find a replacement fast. The new Toro is 10x the mower the old one was, and that Personal Pace variable speed thing is a dream on hills or wet grass!

So again, thank you to that unknown reviewer! Pete

Peter...

Do you have specs and/or a picture of your new Toro Recycler?

Geez, I never thought of taking pics of a lawn mower before. It's a pretty red metalflake color, though. Might be worth a shot or two. 6.5HP, rear wheel drive with differential to help in turns. 0 - 4.8mph continuously variable speed. Guaranteed to start the first or second pull for the first three years. Nifty little plastic mag wheels...

Did I miss anything? Pete

Pete, I did buy a Toro Super Recycler last month, and posted some observations. If it was my review you read, I thank you for the kind words. It is a good feeling to repay you and others for some of the great advice I have received here. I still am very happy with the mower.

I've had my PP for 2 seasons now and love it. I sharpen the blades every tank and it mows as fast as I can walk/run. The cut is great and the recycling is great. The PP is a great feature that I've not seen on other brands. They must have a patent on that.

You sharpen the blades every tank of fuel!?! Just touch them up in place or actually remove them and do it properly? Wow, I usually do that once a season unless I hit a rock!

Yep, I've got a second blade that I sharpen and set aside, when the tank runs nearly dry, flip it over and grab a wrench, spin off the bolt and remove the dull blade and slip on the new one, tighten bolt, fueler-up and go. Takes 2-3 minutes and alls good.
Grass needs to be cut cleanly not "torn" off. If you look at your grass blades and they aren't cleanly cut, but rough looking, then sharpen the mower blades.

And don't cut when the grass is wet.

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But these are the Green Mountains where the grass is always wet! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Pete
