Toro Dingo 320 D
I have a 2000 Toro Dingo 320d mini skid steer with a Kubota 3-cylinder diesel. Up to now it has been an amazing machine for mostly digging post holes.
Hydraulic problems
**Engaging detent on auxiliary hydraulic blows main fuse.
**Turning ignition to on used to engage fuel solenoid (3 wire) now it does not engage but I can manually push it into position and it will stay there, but I now have to jump the solenoid to the starter to start it......(not a big deal).......but......the minute I engage the right or left travel control it kicks off the solenoid. Have cleaned all connections but no luck.
HERE IS MY QUESTION
Can I eliminate all the bells and whistles and just have a plain (fuse protected) electrical circuit and for my starter, fuel solenoid and idiot lights? There is no computer.

Fix the reason you are blowing a fuse, (wire rubbed through?) and you may have a win with everything else. Also check all other fuses.

Fix the cause, not the symptom, so fix the problem instead of trying to bypass it.

Fuel solenoids mostly have 2 circuits, pull-in and hold-in. Therefore, it has power on the hold in, but is missing the pull-in, likely provided by the start circuit, which you don't have, due to fuse or safety device.

You are likely missing the safety control circuit,(reason it won't start) does your machine have a foot switch to say you are standing on the machine, a likely problem, or simply you are missing the power feed for the safety/start circuit due to your blown fuse.

My machine never had a foot safety switch from day one. If I hold the fuel solenoid open with a snap tie I can jump the starter and the Machine starts and runs as though there's nothing wrong but of course we know there is. I will have to try and Trace all the wiring to see if I can find a short will let you know what I find. Thank you very much for all the input.

Whilst it never had one, I expect in the wiring somewhere there was one, it may have been bypassed, it may be hanging loose and shorting out, or yes it doesn't have one, I don't have the wiring diagram, this is just general info.
When you cable tie the fuel solenoid, you are bypassing all the safety switches, as it is being held in.
"Generally" for most machines it goes something like this. When you turn your IGN key on, you put power to the fuel "hold-in" coil. Therefore you can push it in manually and it will stay in. Then you jump the starter and it will run.
However, what would normally happen is as follows- If the start circuit was working, when you turn the key to start, not only does it send power to the starter motor, it also sends power to the "pull-in"coil, which then pulls in and the fuel is on, and the engine starts. When you release the key, the pull-in coil loses power and the hold-in coil keeps it engaged/ON. For the start switch to work, both motion controls will need to be in neutral, and power on the start circuit, and possibly the foot control switch activated, or the park brake switch etc. Each machine is different, some have timers & relays, but they are similar in some respects. Because yours stops when you use the travel control, it is saying - Hey! There is somebody trying to drive this without being on the machine! - so it shuts it down. Or something like that. So it's likely you are missing part of the safety circuit, one part is possibly that foot switch, or park brake switch, or power through the safety circuit/start circuit etc.
