Toro chipper attach to BCS?

/ Toro chipper attach to BCS? #2
I recommend the tomahawk older troy built models, I think they were better built and more heavy duty.

If you are a skilled mechanic and machinist, or know someone who is, I suppose it's possible to adapt equipment like this over to bcs pto style. Would need to make sure that belts are protecting the pto from getting jammed/abused. Anyway it'd be quite a job even for a pro, I'm sure.

Here's my assesment of a lot of attachments for BCS tractors. You can usually get a *used* device with a standalone engine that will do the job you want for like 2-400 bucks, vs buying a bcs attachment for 1000-2000 dollars. The bcs version is usually heavier duty, more capable. But it's always a constant temptation to cheap out and buy dedicated devices like chippers, snowblowers, wood splitters, etc. If you want to save some space and eliminate multiple engine maintenance headaches, you gotta pay quite a premium, but in fairness, the 2 wheel tractor implement is usually more capable/heavy duty. Sometimes I see bearcat or DR or some such powerful chippers with standalone engines, that are arguably as good or better than the BCS implement equivalent, and cheaper as well.

I just debated this last month as well-- to buy a used branch chipper meant to be attached to a tractor PTO, and modify it to be run off of my walk-behind (it listed minimum HP needed as 10HP, so that would be met by the engine on my walk-behind), but then I saw, albeit for twice as much, the branch chipper by the same company with a Kohler 14HP mower built on to a pull-able trailer, though I also have hopes to rent the chipper when I'm not needing it for clearing our land, so that also swayed me to a stand alone motor.

Obviously, attachments that are going to be used in motion have to attach to the walk behind tractor, but also it becomes a question with a free-standing attachment, if you're likely to have someone else helping you. So I can be e.g. mowing while my father-in-law is feeding previously cut branches to the chipper. But if its only you working alone, that part is irrelevant.
