I'm looking to purchase a M7040 this week and most dealers around here have no idea what a Top and Tilt kit is so I need to steer them in the right direction. The questions I have is what type of valves should I get to operate the Top and Tilt and where should I look/contact about a Top and Tilt kit for the Kubota M7040? Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

OEM Top and Tilt is not available for the M Series, but MtnViewRanch handles Fit Rite and I believe another advertiser does also, but I forget the name. I have been using the hydraulic toplink off my L5740 on our M8540 until I get a different one.

Here is a picture of the OEM on my L5740 if that might help.

Gearmore makes a T & T kit with an extra valve (3 in all). Much less expensive than the Kubota valves alone. And you get the hydraulic cylinders.

The only issue is that the valve controls look like an add-on and are attached to the ROPS rather than integrated like the OEM Kubota valves.

dumb question time...I just ordered the hydraulic top link for my new 5740 like Triple R. Why only a hydraulic side link on one side? Why not both? Unnecessary? Too expensive? All of the pics I have seen have the tilt link on the right side. Why? I have a nice box blade and think I could find uses for the tilt feature and I have the third remote already installed. Seems if you have ditch work to do, you'd always have to drive in one direction only. I admit full ignorance here, and would appreciate getting educated, beyond watching Everything Attachment videos. Thanks and don't mean to hijack OP's main question. Drew

Not a dumb question at all, Drew. A hydraulic link on both sides might give you a greater range of tilt, but at least for me it would have been entirely unnecessary. What I did (and learned to do from other TBN members long ago) was to adjust the hydraulic link to the center or halfway point. Then adjust the left link to make the box blade level. And then you can either raise or lower the right end of the box blade, so in other words, you can tilt it in either direction; maybe not as far as you could with both hydraulic links, but as far as I ever needed to go.

Bird, that sure makes sense, thank you. Drew

Regarding a single hydraulic side link. For MOST users there is no reason to have more than one properly built hydraulic side link. When I say properly built, this means that the single side link will get you an equal amount of tilt to either the right or left sides. So you do not have to always drive in one direction. There usually is no reason to have 2 hydraulic side links. Yes you can get a steeper cut, but the tractor usually will not pull a full cut anyway and on the second pass, the tractor is now down in the cut so that the implement would then be cutting a steeper cut anyway. I hope that this sort of explains the side link deal for you. I have built custom links for customers, one customer is a landscaper and wanted double side links built to get the maximum tilt without binding. He has some pictures in the photo section of the Fit Rite website if you want to see some major tilt. Check it out.

It is best to get the remotes with the float function, several reasons why, but the additional cost is minimal and it does not hurt to have the float function available. One of those things of better to have it and not need it vs needing it and not having it. If you are going to be doing much grading, I HIGHLY recommend getting all 3 rear remotes that are available for that tractor.

A complete Top & Tilt set from me for an M7040 would be $625 + shipping costs. Contact me on the Fit Rite website shown in my signature and I will get you a detailed quote. ;)

I don't think that the OP has any extra rear remotes other than the single one that comes with the M7040 (3 recommended). Maybe you can advise him on those extra two remotes and give him a price.

My experience is consistent with the information provided by Bird and MtnViewRanch, I must admit I was not completely sold on TnT until I had the chance to actually use it a while. I have a Land Pride HR3584 I use on both the M8540 and M8540 and the TnT really allows full use. We don't have the side link or third remote on the M8540 and won't spend the money for one now, but would if I was buying now.

The picture is the OEM controls on the L5740; forgot to post them on my other one..
