believe a toothbar is what i need. have some digging to do in sod and compacted dirt, also occassional root grubbing.

local dealers have disappointingly low interest in the subject. freight is likely to be important factor in end cost. google search reveals no dealers or fabricators within 1000 miles.

anyone aware of source close to lower rio grande valley? need to fit 60 inch bucket on 7308 fel, nh tc-30.

-thanks

Here is a link to the woods page showing their toothbars.
woods toothbar

You can use the dealer search to see if there is a dealer close to your location in TX.

If not you can find a Woods dealer who can have UPS deliver it to your door step. UPS delivered my toothbar to the dealer and could of just as easily shipped it to my house. An excuse to go by my dealer having it shipped there. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought mine through Creek County Equipment. He is a member of this board under the name dancce. I am sure he could arrange something for you.

Shu, I'm surprised your NH dealer isn't interested in getting you a toothbar. I just bought a 72" toothbar for my 16LA loader's HD bucket. My dealer had it in stock and said it was a NH part. It bolted right to the inside of my bucket...perfect fit. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I didn't pay but $299 for it and the MSRP was $350. It has replaceable teeth and is made very well. Freight should be no more than about $40. Because it was a stock item at my dealer, I paid no freight.

Is your bucket pre-drilled for a toothbar? That's the biggest job I've heard of anyone having.

If you have a problem making contact with a source, I'll talk to my dealer and ask him if he will ship to Brownsville. I'll bet if you have a NH dealer who sells primarily NH construction equipment (yellow NH's) you will have more luck and cooperation. What is the width of your bucket?

Last year I asked my local NH/Kubota dealer about tooth bar for my LA782 heavy duty bucket (72"). Gave him about 6 months & he never did come up with even a price. Others here had recommended Carver Equipment out of North Carolina.

www.carverequipment.com

So I emailed them with the inside measurements of my bucket & also gave them the M# of the bucket (I think), they quoted 350.00 delivered to my door on ups (freight prepaid). I mailed them a check & some time later it arrived.

Has been a good one. So far I have not been able to break anything on it. Have loaded several dump truck loads of concrete. Many times I have lifted the back of the tractor (with 1000 lb counter balance) by one tooth.
Also lifted the front of the tractor by one tooth.

Steel price increases may have made it go up by now.

thanks, guys -

must be toothbars just are not too popular in south texas. appears nh does not associate toothbars with tractor loaders in their parts look-ups.
..rivera's did not have one, nor yet ever had one.
..local nh dealer (pioneer) said would look up and call back, (but did not).
..nh dealer in corpus christi (coastal plains) said would look up and call back (but did not)
..nh dealer in san antonio (alamo ag-con) had one on hand, but wrong size for me.
..nh dealer in dallas (landmark) had one, at full price plus tax plus shipping. was nice enough to give me the part number. making progress the more north we go.
..called next tier up in local dealership, gave part nr provided by dallas and asked to confirm that it fit the 7308 loader. answer was it fits several skid steers, but could not associate the part nr with the 7308 loader. did fax me prints of some text from the parts books.

not wanting to special order something without being confident it is the right item, called nh north america hq. nice lady said they have no access to parts info, put me on hold, and herself called the local dealership. came back and told me yes, it will fit.

went back to local dealership. part nr 9624719H (heavy?)(provided by the dallas dealership) does indeed list association with several skid steers but no tractor loaders. however it associates also with the '60 inch light material bucket' which is probably the bucket i have on the 7308 loader. however the items weighs 110 lb - quite a bit to hang out front.

there is another item, 9624719L (light?) made from 0.5 inch steel vice 0.75 inch; weighs 71 lb. felt confident enough about that to order it. $269.00.

we'll see when it gets here.

I just called up Carver's, told them I had a Kubota 2910 with a 54" bucket and paid them over the phone with my credit card. A few days later a nice toothbar arrived that fit perfectly. Cost was $295 and it has worked great. It doesn't get any easier than that. . . drilling the two holes was the hardest part and that took all of 5 minutes.

Shu,

When I bought my BX-22 I asked the dealer about a toothbar because of all the posts I had seen on TBN. He acted like he did not have any idea what I was talking about. And, I gotta say, I don't ever remember seeing a FEL with a toothbar around here.

I ordered one from Carver last week. I expect it to arrive any day now. They can fix you up - - unless you have to have it from someone within your driving distance.

Forgot to add this. My Kubota dealer didn't know what a toothbar was either. After I described it too him he finally understood, but said that he didn't sell any of them as there was no need for them on a CUT. Probably the margin is too small for them to deal with.

Shu, I live on the other tip of Texas....Old El Paso, anyway, here is one more rock on your tooth bar pile. I just ordered an 8 tooth bar from http://markhamwelding.com/ (attached a stock picture of the 7 tooth). They make them to size and they bolt in. You will need the inside measurement of your bucket from side to side, 8" in from the front lip of your cutting edge. I ordered mine on Friday morning, it was shipped that same afternoon and will be here on Wednesday or Thursday....$285. delivered.

Shu,
You ever decide on the tooth bar. I got mine today and attached it. Was real easy, 2 bolts. Only 5 days from ordering to installed. See my other posting in this thread. Attached a photo of the installed 8 tooth bar.

Shu,

My toothbar from Carver arrived late Tuesday. I'm looking forward to this weekend so I can install it. Not especially looking forward to drilling 3/4" holes for the bolts, however.

It probably took a little over a week from placing the order for it to arrive. The UPS driver said, "I think I've got part of a tractor aboard". He was right.
