I have a Toolcat 5610 with little under 1000hrs. I bought it used with 185 hrs and it has had a intermittent problem with suddenly stopping and throwing a 50-56 code. It usually happens, if it does, in the first 30 minutes of running. Sometimes it will come on parked and idling so it doesn’t need to be moving to have the code. Usually it also throws a code 36-17 at same time. Normally after shutting down and restarting, code will clear and won’t return.
Today after about two hours of mowing it stopped and had the 50-56 code. Tried clearing code and didn’t fix it. Found F2 fuse beside foot pedal blown and replaced it and was good to go. After about 30 minutes running popped the code again and was at a stand still. This time all fuses good. I was parked for 30-45 minutes while I got a tractor to drag it to the shop and code was gone when I tried one more time before dragging it. Code came on again in about 5 minutes but cleared when i restarted. Giving up for the night i headed up to put mower deck away and code came on but machine kept moving until i started to slow down as I pulled up to where I usually store my mower deck.
I had my dealer look into it this winter when I had to have the exhaust manifold change and they couldn’t come up with a reason. Finally getting really frustrated and wondering if anyone else has had similar problem and idea where to start looking. I don’t want to just start replacing parts looking for a cause. I swear, I was so frustrated tonight, if I would have had to drag it to the yard, except for ruining tires, I would have drug it the 20 miles to my dealer!
