One thing I found lacking on the BX2200 is an area to store gloves and tools. The tractor is so compact that that there are few places to mount a toolbox without interfering with something. Here is one solution that has worked well for me.

I went to a local fab shop and had them miter a piece of 3-inch channel as shown in the attached picture. They welded a six-inch gusset across the miter so that I could mount the bracket to the ROPS using the holes where the SMV bracket is mounted. I took the SMV bracket and attached it to the toolbox (not shown on photos). The toolbox is a 50 MM ammo box. This is a very solid mount and does not require drilling holes on the ROPS. The location does not interfere with the top link keeper.

Nice looking job! I've been wanting a box too as my gloves keep falling off, and the adjustable wrench keeps dissapearing.
Thanks for the pics.

Thanks Dave, losing gloves and wrenches was the main thing that caused me to attach a toolbox. I lost a 12 inch adjustable wrench in March; found it yesterday in the garden coated with rust. Last week I ran over a missing work glove with the MMM.
I have an extra left hand glove if you need one! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That is a real nice job. I think I will file this one away as I want to do something like this for mine also and this is the nicest attachement I have seen yet without modifying the tractor.

Can you still put the SMV sign back on over top or not?
thanks

Rogue, I mounted the SMV bracket on the toolbox with two 1/4 inch stove bolts. The attached picture shows the SMV sign installed. I rarely take my tractor on the road so my SMV sign usually hangs on a nail in my garage.

I didn't use the flash so the picture is a little dark.

I received two emails asking about paint and fab cost. Here is the info.

Paint is Rustolium (SP) from Home Depot. It is not an exact match, a little lighter than Kubota grey. cost between $3 & $4

Bracket was made at a local fabricating shop. cost $40

The ammo box was given to me by a neighbor so I do not know the cost.
