Tomatoes and jalopenas in the corner next to the greenhouse.

And our cages were made from concrete wire too. I used five foot fabric, made a cylinder, and then cut it in the middle, voila! two cages.

So far the corn imports from CA and the south to the northern market here is only so=so. The corn while sweet and healthy looking is somewhat tough and very starchy tasting. As I said on another thread, last year's sweet corn here in the NE was the best I can EVER recall. It will be tough to outdo last years stock. I'll be happy if it gets even close.

When I cook corn, I do it the proper way. Take the corn, place it on a grill that's using wood for fuel. Char the husks for about 25 minutes. The inside steams and/or caramelizes.

If ya want a new idea, shuck an ear or 2 of corn, make a tin foil tent for it. Place IT and some salt, pepper, butter and lottsa fresh lime juice squeezed over it in the foil tent. Set her on the grill for 30 minutes. Proven delight.
