Hey I just had to start a new thread for ya! Anyway you have been so helpful and I have been following your posts and decided to update you and the rest of the guys on my purchase. I have decided to go with the Bota 3010 with a standing lift platform from www.Life-Essentials.net. Just put it on order this morning and should be here the middle of next week. Anyway back to the Chinese Tractor its still not out of my mind and I did talk to Hubert at LifeEssentials about it. His answer was a picture of a County Road Supervisor that was in a wheelchair and had a platform lift designed and engineered for him, by Hubert, that got him on "Any" tractor/grader/crawler the county owned. Hubert stated "anything can be done some a little harder than others, but it all can be done". Anyway I sure would like some detailed pictures of the clutch, braking and shifter linkage from ya. It will give me (or rather him) an idea of whats involved first hand.
Anyway good luck with your tractor. Sure hope you are getting alot of seat time on it. Lets see a progress picture of it!

Carl,

Congrads on your new tractor. I hope it works out well for you, and working around your pond.

I have a number of new photos including the deck area that will be posted on the website. Just been too busy with other things, that have even interfered with my tractor assembly! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif To get a flavor of the deck area, check out this link to Emerybuilt. It is a good deal of the operator's manual. http://www.emerybuilt.com/TractorManual.htm

PS: For those deck pictures, I expect to see some of that 10ac pond /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif My old Jinma is doing duty next to a 14ac pond. Don't mind me, just pond jealous! Hope to have just a 1acre pond built next year. The hoe will help with those test holes this summer though! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hey John before you start punching holes in the ground for a pond I recommend you do your research first. I orginally bought 21.5 acres with one pond, now I have three. I am thinking about putting in a second one to start the fish and am reseaching how I go about draining it if the ***** Willows get out of hand or we have the rains like this year. Do yourself a favor and think about it and have a logical workable answer before you start. Also unless you know the county has a "Good tile" don't even think about tying into an old busted up one. Thats what I am dealing with here and am having to run a 7.5 HP pump to get rid of the excess water thru a different easement. Any idea how much juice it takes to run that monster for a few hours a day? It costs a small fortune. Just a few words to the wise. Oh and if you put one in don't forget to get a million dollar umbrella from your insurance company. All it takes is one dumb kid to kill himself and you are going to out a lifes savings. Education is expensive.
Oh I will get a few pics up tomorrow of the pond.

I have been looking into ponds for some years. I have 3-4 books on the subject and many links, most provided by the good folks at TBN. I have 3 possible locations, each of which have pluses and minuses. The test holes would be on the perimeter of the possible locations. Would be looking for things like depth to clay layer, rock ledges, water flow, etc.

The pond itself would be done by a professional. This guy has built many ponds in the area, including large ones, and all of the ponds at my friends hatchery/fish farm. Mention ponds to any of local farmers, and they will rattle off this guys name. He has all the right equipment and knowledge and I have been satisfied with other dozer work he has done for me. Wouldn't take on anymore with the hoe then a yard pond or removing gravel from the creek to enlarge the kids swimming hole.

Agree 100% with the insurance. Neccesary evil these days. Look forward to your pictures.

Great looking new tractor! Looks like one very happy owner, too /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Oh yea, what the picture was about, did I mention that I can only salivate over ponds this size! Nice pix.

PS: You will probably have to wait till after 4th of July vacation before I get new pictures uploaded to the website. Have pictures from many other owners, including some JM304s, and just received some pictures of a flatbed tractor trailer full of JMs and implements. There hasn't been enough time to focus on my tractor, let alone the website!
