Purchased a Lotos LTPDC2000d 3 in 1 50 amp plasma cut/ 200 amp tig/ 200 amp MMA and so far it has worked great.---b-u-t
I may have an opportunity to buy a Linoln Idealarc Tig 300/300 1960s? model in unknown condition (the guy was told it worked and has never hooked it up to test it.)
I still need to confirm that it is a 240 volt single phase and not a 3 phase unit.
The price is good and if there is a good way to load it into a pick up ?? the info seems to suggest these weigh between 850 and 1000 lbs. i do have an engine cherry picker so maybe if it can lift high enough?!
If I had more long term confidence in the LOTOS combo- there wouldn't be a real need ( have read both good and bad) and I do have an old 1980s Harbor freight (italian built) Powermig 150 that has always worked very well and a 1960s victor Oxy/Acetylene torch that always works to.
the 1 big advantage I see for the Lincoln is welding aluminum-
i would really like to be able to tig aluminum, and it looks like the Lincoln can do that, once set up.
does anyone have one of these Lincolns and if so how do you like it?
