Since the x70 series and the 790's and 990's share so many components (my 1991 670 had the same sheet metal and many other components of my 2003 790), I don't think the x70 series machines will have too many parts availability problems for several years, at least.
The 990 has the same transmission, sheet metal and other components of the larger x70 series (870, 970 and 100)...can't see a major problem there either.

I own a 1990 JD 670. So far I have been able to get any part I need. But, I have not needed that many parts in 16 months of owner ship. I too, think the 70 and 55 series are one of JDs best. Considering the large number of these tractors that JD has in the field, I think they will want to supply parts for many years to come. Any tractor that was or is produced in small numbers, is where one runs into parts problems. Klinks opinion only
