Still trying to find out how the super steer side shocks are supposed to be adjusted. My TN75F has very heavy shocks attached to the frame, one on each side. They have conical type ends that fit into recessed pockets and an adjustable base. My question is zero clearance? preload? or slack? I have TN75F manuals now, but can't find any reference to them except for removal when working with the front end. The other question with the super steer is the actual ball pivot point. Is it worth removing the top and repacking with grease? There doesn't seem to be any maintenance listed for the pivot.

You can adjust the oscillation stops to your preference; the factory sets them with some slack but I can't say how much. There is no provision for lubing the upper Supersteer spherical bearing on straight 'F' models. A zerk was installed on the LH side of the bolster on 'FA' models. The service life of a non-relubable upper bearing is about 4000 hours in this neck of the woods. Jack the tractor from a point at the engine block/front bolster interface and observe the upper bearing slop as the weight comes off the front axle, then decide how you wish to proceed.

Thanks Rick, that's really helpful. The shocks do have some slack and appear to be exactly the same, but I was not sure if that was considered properly adjusted. I will check the super steer, as I am at 3900 hours. It would probably make sense to drill and tap the cover for a zerk if I overhaul it.
