I have a quote and am hoping that I can get some feedback.

TN 70 4WD
LOADER WITH QUICK ATTACH BUCKET
CUTTING EDGE
72" HD BUCKET
BLOCK HEATER
REAR WORK LIGHT
LOADED REAR TIRES
HYDRAULIC SHUTTLE
$31,450 + FREIGHT & TAXES

4 IN 1 BUCKET ADD $4,500

$35,950 seems high as a initial impression. What do you think?

Thanks

I gave $25,000 for my TN65, MFWD, 8X8, no shuttle, MSD loader w/ quick attach two years ago. You're getting a turbo and the hydraulic shuttle, they ain't cheap. How many gears on the tractor you're looking at?

Hi Brad,

It is a 16x16 transmission.

Any suggestions to lower the price and still have a good utility loader tractor?

I am willing to price a TN 65 with a 8x8 transmission.

TN65, FWA, 32LA loader, 8x8 tranny and Manual shuttle will run you around $25,000 give or take a couple hundred. I just priced out a bunch of tractors ranging from a TC21 on up to a TS90 (I was bored and my dealer friend was not busy so I spent a couple hours down there /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif )

I didn't price a TN70 or 75 yet but I might in a couple days if they are not busy. My prices were for the standard loader and Heavy duty bucket. I fail to see the need for a cutting edge until the loader bucket starts to wear. I use my loader on the farm and on construction sites around machine shops moving concrete rubble, steel and everything else in the way and my loader still is not wearing after 3 years of heavy use.

All in all, for what you are getting on your tractor the price doesn't seem out of line. Can you get a detailed breakdown on the cost of all the accessories and post them? Later.

Gee that is kind of high we just sold 2 TL80's this week with 52LA loaders and the price was only a 1000.00 more than your TN70 price

Could it be the 4 in 1 bucket adding $4500 is distorting his final figures?

I thought the 4-in-1 buckets were around $2k... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

What is the loader price by itself?

If I had to do it over again I'd get at least the 12x12 transmission. The 8x8 can be a little fast if you want to creep and keep the RPMs up. I bet you could save a bundle by skipping the power shuttle although my leg does get a little tired after a couple of hours of back and forth operation. The TN65 has plenty of power, there are times I wish I had more but most of the time the tires will spin before I run out of power. If you get the manual shuttle you have the option of spec'ing the 12.5 GPM pump, that would save some money. The TN70 is turbocharged, that adds complexity and possible future expense. I believe the TN65 is an excellent loader tractor and another thing to keep in mind is that the loader capacity is the same across the entire TN line. I keep forgetting that I'm not running a 988 Cat loader and the extra couple of horsepower the TN70 has over the TN65 ain't gonna change that! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

How does the TN 65 compare to the Kubota M5700HD which I also have listed? Is one superior to the other?

Does the $4,500 upcharge for the 4 in 1 bucket seem reasonable? This kicks up the overall loader cost in excess of $8,000 /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif!

I should just buy a used bare tractor for the $8,000 and job out the excavation projects as needed.

Sticker shock may take awhile yet to recover...

Well, there are some people who don't like to hear this but the Kubota is too light for the HP. It is a problem all Kubotas have with their larger tractors. What good is all the hp if the tractor can't put it to the ground? Only time it is good is if you only running pto equipment. The TN weighs roughly 1 ton more then the Kubota you mentioned and the 65 has equal power which allows you to use more of the tractors power for loader work, tillage and any other ground engaging or towing jobs you might have.

If the $4500 is a lot for you then consider saving quite a bit and go with a quick change bucket and a set of pallet forks. The forks will allow you to move logs, stumps, some large rocks and a lot of other stuff. I use mine to lift my little 1920 out of the mud when it gets stuck. You can always get or build an attachment to pull the post out if you have a lot to pull. If you only have a couple then just wrap a chain around them and hook to the loader and pull up. Then TN's and most new tractors are great. They are easy to use, comfortable and in most cases reliable. Buying used is nice if the bottom line is a concern and I do buy used equipment quite often. Down side to used is if something breaks down, dealerships don't always have parts depending on the age of the machine. You don't have a warranty. And you don't know how bad the machine has been beat by the previous owner. There are some great deals out there for used ones but with NH's 0% for 3 years on the TN go for new if you can as you won't regret it.
