Hello, all I have been a member for a while but havent posted in some time,, I have been chasing a fuel problem for a while,
changed the filters and such, a new pickup pump, it was weak, but I am still having troubles seems like it is starving for fuel, today I disconnected the line the goes into the bottom of the tank, and is the supply line to teh pickup pump,, it is I believe called the rigid tube in the parts book,

I am trying to remove that part, I have the fittings off, and it appears to be a huge nut, a hex shaped end,, I tried to loosen it and it does nothing, just spins,, is this actually a nut, or a pressed in type part, any ideas wuld greatly appreciate it, thansk pat

btw ,, the part number to this is 5187042,, or 87631465,, they list it as a rigid tube, ,, but should be a fuel tube? or fuel line? I dont want to drop the tank and find out I can remove it from underneath, there is plenty of room,, just cant tell if it is really screwed in, or if it maybe a push in grommet style,, maybe the screw end is to hold for the fittings? pulling my hair out at this time.. looks like jerry mt, had answered a post about symptom, and suggested taking the fuel pipe out,, but didnt say how,, maybe he has had it out before? thanks again, hopefully someone has taken one out,,

I know its kinda weird to reply to my own thread, but just in case anyone in the future runs int the problem. The fuel tube is supposed to be screwed into a nut that would be molded into the tank, but the nut came loose inside the tank, i am thinking they tightened it down to much on build,, anyway, its should just screw out under normal circumstances.. I had to pry it out nut and all, but there is a 1/4" pipe thread size hole in teh tank after removal of unit, so I threaded a small pipe and a coupling into the hole and epoxied it in place, should work as new,, have a great day,
